RV-8 Turbine N333JB

Welcome to the home of the experimental turbine powered RV-8, 333 Juliet Bravo.

By the time the plane was ready to go, the new kid had been grossly overworked.

This site is dedicated to keeping you up to date with the adventure that is applying a turbine engine to a plane for which it was not particularly designed. We have had many successful, as well as disheartening moments, but are determined to work out the few problems that still stand in our way.

Currently, we have had eight successful flights, some to a larger degree than others. The most exciting being the flight where our altitude only changed by about 150 ft. However she does fly and we have been able to get a lot of information about what we need to work on next thanks to the courage of our test subject, I mean pilot.

The engine we use is an Innodyn turbine engine model 205TE. Inside, we have a beautiful layout of avionics, including a 10.4” Flight Op MFD (Multi function display) with a Blue Mountain EFIS lite backup system.
