What is Project Reclaim?

  1. Project Reclaim is an initiative backed by American Baptist Churches GI. Since September of 2005, the Project has provided a place for volunteers to stay and provided work for them to do. Hundreds of volunteers have cleaned debris, rehabilitated homes, and are now building the first of six homes. The camp consists of 6 sleeping cabins, a dining hall, a kitchen, laundry facilities, bathrooms and showers.

How long will Project Reclaim maintain a presence in Pass Christian?

  1. PR initially committed to be in Pass Christian only until Fall 2007. But additional contributions have enabled the Project to maintain to a presence in the Pass at least until six homes are built, which is anticipated to be Fall 2008.

How is the construction of the homes funded?

  1. The construction of the homes is partially funded by a grant from the “One Great Hour of Sharing Offering” through “National Ministries of the American Baptist Churches USA”. American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis administers the grant.
