Series 3: 10 Readings

Everyone is very busy trying to meet the demands of their jobs and their everyday lives. It is becoming difficult to find the time to read all of the materials that you might like or need to read. The Fast Facts Series were developed to provide tutors, instructors, counselors, therapists, instructional aids, and caring family members with information related to the topic of Adults with Learning Differences. They are available using a format that is short and easy to read. Each article is written in “plain English” and does not require a high level of professional training to understand. While the language is straightforward, the content is substantive. In Pennsylvania, completion of the readings and accompanying questions can be used to earn Act 48 professional development hours.

This page contains links to all of the Fast Facts readings that make up the first three series of independent professional development readings. Each Fast Fact is a short and easy to read article on a specific topic related to learning differences and disabilities. In addition, Series 4 of the Fast Facts is made up of 10 actual case studies for you to apply your knowledge and diagnostic skills. Information on Series 4 of the Fast Facts is available using the menu to the left.

For PA ABLE practitioners, 3.5 Act 48 continuing education hours have been approved for each of the series. You can find out more information about how to use the Fast Facts for professional development by calling (814) 878-2125 or e-mailing pcapito@stairwaysbh.org.
