Summary - Lee Baber

  Lee began teaching in the public school system  in 1999 and has played a leadership role in the growth and development of her school’s computer literacy curriculum. Notable areas of expertise include multimedia and interactive web-based curriculum, online secondary education strategies, education grants programs, computer art curriculum and open source application utilization. 
     Prior to this, Lee was managing a Recording Studio at University of Maryland and went on to start a successful Recording Studio in Virginia. She also has several years experience training Arabian horses for the USET Endurance Racing discipline. Lee holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Production Management, Music and Audio Engineering) from University of Maryland.
    Currently Lee is a member of Worldbridges,  Teachers Teaching Teachers, The Webcast Academy, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Virginia Society of Technology Education,  Webheads, and International Bluegrass Music Association.  She also has the following distinctions: NETS-T Certification, Certified Internet Web Professional, Apple School Night Champion Teacher, and is writing the Internet Audio Book. 
    She enjoys being a teacher and learning facilitator guiding students into the world of information and technology.  She helps build confidence and teach lifelong learning skills as her students develop a good foundation in Computer Literacy and the use of web based applications. Students produce a podcast and a webcast called SpaceCast hosted by Worldbridges, with other students and "experts" from around the globe to discuss current affairs, school reform, common interests and old fashioned storytelling. A Personal Learning Space allow students to blog and share student produced media after the show and provides a digital interactive ePortfolio that can stay with them throughout their education and beyond.
    Lee’s been the recipient of numerous Innovative Idea grants and awards and has presented at the Virginia Department of Education’s Leadership Conference, K12 Online Conference,  Global Learn Day.
