We Believe

The Bible...We believe the entire Bible to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God written.  It is our only rule for faith and practice.

God...We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created and controls the universe.

Jesus Christ...We believe Jesus to be both God and man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins, was resurrected bodily, ascended to the Father, interceded for believers and will make a personal return in power and glory.

Holy Spirit...We believe in the personality, presence, and ministry of the Holy Spirit who lives in every Christian, helping and enabling believers to live for God.

The Church...We are not a denomination, but an independent congregation of believers learning and loving together, united in Christ.

At Lawndale Christian Church, our desire is to create disciples of Jesus Christ. We define a disciple as one who loves God, lives in community with believers, and engages culture.

A disciple loves God:
He recognizes that God is indwelling the believer, empowering him to live a holy, blameless life; steadfastly following Christ’s teaching and commands.

A disciple lives in community with believers:
A disciple uses their God-given gifts to build up the body of Christ to spiritual maturity, equality and unity in faith; experiencing life with the body of believers, sharing in sufferings and celebrations.

A disciple is engaged in culture:
As a disciple goes through life, he is equipped to give an answer for the hope he has; he takes the servant approach to teaching, in order to make God’s intent and wisdom known to all.
