Perfect for concerts, festivals, weddings, dances, lectures and workshops, Fiddlespel performs polskas, hambo, schottische, waltz, polka, marches and more from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland on fiddles, nyckelharpa (the keyed fiddle, a Swedish bowed instrument), and Hardanger fiddle (a Norwegian fiddle with sympathetic strings). Our performances include soul-stirring arrangements and spoken introductions that engage the listener and place the music in its cultural setting. We offer hands-on and lecture-style workshops in Scandinavian fiddling and ensemble-playing, as well as nyckelharpa and Hardanger fiddle demonstrations. We can provide a teacher for dance workshops on request.
