If it grows together, it goes together...

Laura Comerford is a Southern girl, city-seasoned.  All recipes here use as many locally grown and sourced ingredients as possible, including produce from her own backyard Brooklyn garden and wild-edibles foraged in public parks.

She knows how to re-craft, re-work, re-use and make it totally fab! If you don’t grow it, know where it comes from. And we’ll do our best to help you find out.

Make Ice Cream from Snow

Old-Fashioned Snow Cream

1 cereal bowl of tightly packed snow, (I don't need to tell you that you MUST use freshly fallen snow free of contaminants. Preferably snow caught in a dish or an isolated vessel.)

½ cup cream or milk, (You can also mix these to your desire.)

2-3 teaspoons sugar or maple syrup

¼-½ teaspoon vanilla

Nutmeg

Simply dissolve vanilla and sugar or maple syrup in the cream. Pour over packed snow and grate a fresh dash of nutmeg over the top. It will definitely cause a stir at your next dinner party. You may need have people sign waivers before-hand
