Welcome!
In this combination website and blog you’ll find both information about my counseling practice as well as the archives and new editions of Nature and Grace Journal. Many of you subscribed to the print version that ran from 1996-1998. Click on “Nature and Grace Journal” in the bar above to go there.
Here’s information about my counseling and spiritual direction practice. There’s more at the tabs “Spiritual Direction,” “What I do best” and “About Laura Thor.”
Counseling and spiritual direction with Laura Thor, LCSW
What are you seeking in a counselor?
•Experience. 21 years of sitting down with one person at a time for an hour, listening, discerning, hearing what's unsaid, teaching, supporting, gently challenging, validating.
•Acceptance. Welcoming and celebrating who you are. No matter who you are.
•Integrity and spiritual wholeness. Seeing the big picture, the possibilities for change and growth, and using a variety of skills to help you get there as well as live in the moment peacefully.
•Comfort. Relax, have a cup of tea, in my sunny office near downtown Littleton, Colorado.
When you come to my office...
You'll be welcomed into a comfortable setting with hour-long sessions (not the typical 45 minutes of managed care). We can chat briefly by phone or exchange emails for you to see if the "fit" seems right. I do not charge for this time. My fee is currently $100 per one-hour session. I am open to discussing a somewhat modified fee if your circumstances require it. I no longer accept insurance, but I will give you a receipt you can submit to your PPO insurance for possible reimbursement. I can accept cash or checks only.
I am available weekdays, Wednesday evenings and alternating Saturday mornings. I look forward to working with you.

Office Directions: From Santa Fe Drive, turn East onto Littleton Blvd (which is briefly called Alamo for a few blocks; the street heads one-way East through downtown Littleton). Note the Courthouse up ahead on your left as you cross the Lightrail bridge and head up hill. Pass Windermere and the Woodlawn Shopping Center, and several blocks later pass Kai Japanese Restaurant, then slow down for Fox; if you pass Pyramid Liquors you’ve just missed it. Park North of the bldg, enter at the front and walk down the long hall to my office at the end. If my door is closed, please have a seat in the waiting room I share, number 102. A clipboard will have the usual (brief) paperwork for you to complete. I’ll come for you in a few minutes.
From Broadway: Take Littleton Blvd to the West, pass the first light and turn Right/North at Fox (next to Pyramid Liquors). Park and find my office as per above.
