NOTDEC UK is a charity which works with NOTDEC in Uganda to provide a better life for orphan children.

The orphanage has 59 children, all of whom are sponsored by people in the UK. Many of the children have lost their mothers during childbirth or from illnesses such as HIV/AIDS.  Other children come from situations where the family is just not able to look after them. All children are screened by the District Probation Officer before they are allowed to join NOTDEC.

Due to the increasing number of children, the present buildings have become inadequate. 32 acres of land has been purchased on which it is planned to build eight bungalows, each housing 12 children and a housemother.

There will also be an administrative block, a nursery school, a multipurpose chapel, staff accommodation, a guest house and workshops, where children can be taught skills they need in adult life.

This is an enormous task, as it will cost at least £200,000 to build the new complex. £100,000 had been raised by January 2009 through donations, sponsored events, a BBQ, coffee mornings and the Alternative Gift Catalogue.

Every penny donated has been sent to NOTDEC Uganda and every penny raised will be spent on the new facilities for the children.

A real opportunity to make a difference to children in Africa

We seek to show the children the love of Christ in action; helping them to acquire good quality and safe accommodation, education, health care and skills training, so that they can play their part in the future of Uganda.
