Isabella, the Revolutionary Intelligentsia... I would like to introduce Isabella, the persuasive Revolutionary Intelligentsia, (of “Julia’s Journeys” of course). The year was 1940, and Isabella was in charge of logistics. She was a compassionate soul who knew many influential people. She would hold private meetings in her home in the foothills of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, with friends who happen to be some of the most intellectual and well respected women of the world. This was where they discussed local atrocities and tried to work at ways to solve these problems. One of the ladies, the beautiful María Cristina Vilanova Castro, Isabella introduced to Jacobo Arbenz, and they were later married. He became the first democratically elected President of Guatemala.. (Jacobo Arbenz was friendly with my grandmother, Julia, in real life). 
Isabella played an integral part in providing Julia with the ways & means to start her journey by connecting her with her good friend, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna. He offered Julia the opportunity to travel with him north, helping her escape from her dire situation at home... I hope you enjoy Isabella, and Julia’s Journeys.
