p h o t o g r a p h y  ~  As a professional photographer since 1990, Larissa has refined her commercial skills in the fashion, portraiture, architectural, editorial and product-marketing genres. In early 2006, she decided to bring true union to her two life-long loves: photography & yoga. She now focuses the body of her photographic work in the realm of yoga. She is a contributing photographer for Yoga Journal magazine. She goes nationally on assignment for lifestyle brand - Prana. She tours regularly as a photographer for John Friend, and travels all over the US, photographing national yoga conferences and doing in-depth photo studies of Master Yoga Teachers & Practitioners.

y o g a  ~  Larissa is also a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor. She began the study of yoga in 1998.  After 6 years of intense practice as a student, she made the decision to teach, and received her first Hatha teaching certification in 2004.

She was later introduced to Purna Yoga in 2006 by Aadil Palkhivala. In May 2007, she attended his Advanced Yoga Therapeutics teacher training, learning powerful healing & regeneration techniques utilizing a yoga wall system. She considers Aadil one of her two main teachers and continues to learn from him.

At the beginning of 2008, she toured full-time for 3 months with John Friend, her other main teacher, as his tour photographer, capturing images and being immersed in the world and teachings of Anusara Yoga

She travels regularly teaching yoga in Austin, Denver, & San Antonio. She teaches Hatha at all levels, Beginners to Advanced, cohesively blending the wisdom and practices from the traditions of Purna, Iyengar and Anusara yoga. She teaches weekly classes, monthly workshops, and  gives an extensive amount of her time to work therapeutically with her students, one-on-one. She is currently working towards her E-RYT-500 Certification through Yoga Alliance.

"You’ll find inspiration everywhere! I believe in all paths and all teachers; each one has something significant to contribute," she says.

Along with these life-practices that maintain physical health and vitality, Larissa also believes passionately in connecting with Spirit, and in sustaining yogic mindfulness towards ourselves, our fellow beings, and our sacred Earth. She has dedicated her life experience to being the eternal student of greater wisdom and Universal Truths. She sees yoga as a continual journey which calls upon our deepest discipline and courage to sustain. She encourages her students to find this in the simple stillness of the breath, on or off the mat.

Teaching yoga and photographing yoga masters & Yoga Journal conferences has taken her all over the country in the past two years.  These travel assignments have been a true gift, and have afforded her the continuing opportunities to study with an amazing list of master yoga teachers that keeps growing:
