Lando traces his exposure to filmmaking back to his early childhood. His father, then 60 Minutes Producer Barry Lando taught a film course to his first grade class. Making movies was a frequent activity, and super-8 cameras and –later- ever evolving video cameras, were always at hand.

After earning a degree in artificial intelligence and philosophy, Jeffery embarked on a career as an indie shooter. Alternating working with IATSE in Vancouver as a lighting technician with directing photography on independents, Lando eventually moved to New York and shot indies fulltime throughout the late 90s.

In 2000, with the appearance of digital video and software such as final cut pro, the new possibilities available propelled Lando into moving back to Vancouver to direct his first full length feature, SAVAGE ISLAND which scored well with reviewers and festivals garnering seven awards.

Shoreline Entertainment then offered Lando a two-picture deal which turned into INSECTICIDAL (winner of a ‘best creature feature’ award from the Phoenix Int’l Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival) and ALIEN INCURSION. Both of which have sold well internationally and have been shown on the Sci-Fi channel.

Having enjoyed INSECTICIDAL, SONY tapped Lando to direct DECOYS 2: ALIEN SEDUCTION furthering the cause of dark seductresses everywhere.

It was on the heels of this project that he was offered to make THIRST on his own terms. Excited by the prospect of a more auteur approach to filmmaking, Jeffery dove into the intimate thriller.
