Born   and   raised   in  Minnesota,  Stephen   Sommers  went    on   to   attend    St.  John’s  University   before  transferring   to   the  University  of   Seville  in  Spain.  After   graduating,   he   spent   the   next   several   years  performing   as   an   actor   in   theater   groups   and  managing   rock   bands   throughout   Europe.

Relocating   to   Los   Angeles,  Sommers   enrolled  in   the  University  of  Southern California’s School   of   Cinema-Television   and   spent  the   next  three   years   earning   a   Masters   Degree   in  Film   Production.    Upon   writing   and   directing  an  award-winning   student   film,  Perfect   Alibi,  he   was   granted   the   opportunity   to   write   and   direct  his  first  feature length  motion  picture, Catch  Me  If  You  Can.

From   there,   Sommers   went   on   to   create   such   well-known   and   beloved   adaptations   as  The  Adventures  of  Huck   Finn   and   Rudyard   Kipling’s   The   Jungle   Book, both   for   Walt   Disney Pictures.    He   also   wrote   and   executive   produced   Disney’s   adventure  Tom  and   Huck  before  returning   to   the   director’s   chair   for   the   suspense-thriller   Deep Rising.

The   next   year,   Sommers   wrote,  directed   and    produced   the   first   installment    of     The Mummy   franchise   for   Universal   Pictures.    That   film   and   its   sequel,  The   Mummy   Returns, have   grossed   over   eight   hundred   and   forty  million   dollars  in box office worldwide.    His   next monster   blockbuster   was   the   action-adventure   epic   Van   Helsing,  released  in  2004, which  did  over  three   hundred  million   dollars  at  the box  office.  Following his producing   duties   on  The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor,  Sommers wrote,  directed  and  produced  G.I. Joe  for  Paramount Studios.  G.I. Joe is set for release in summer 2009.

Stephen   currently   resides   in   Los   Angeles   with   his   wife   Jana   and   their   two   daughters.

Bob   Ducsay    has   collaborated   with   writer-director Stephen   Sommers   on   G.I. Joe, The  Mummy,  The  Mummy  Returns,  Deep  Rising,  The  Jungle  Book  and  The  Adventures  of  Huck  Finn.  In   November   of   2001,   Sommers   and   Ducsay  teamed   to   form  Sommers  Company   with   a  three-year   deal   at   Universal   Pictures.  Universal's  May   2004   release   of   Van  Helsing   marked   their   first  film   under    the   new   banner,   and   the   five-year  renewal   of   their   pact   with   Universal.   Bob   Ducsay  served   as   both   producer   and   editor   on   the   film.  He is a producer on the third installment in the Mummy franchise, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and is producing G.I. Joe.

Ducsay’s   editing  credits   include   The   Mummy   and   The   Mummy  Returns,  which   he   also  executive   produced.   He   edited  The  Adventures  of  Huck  Finn,  The  Jungle  Book,   Deep  Rising,  Impostor,  Star  Kid   and   Love  and  a  .45.    Ducsay   recently   executive   produced   the   Academy  Award   winning   short   film  Two   Soldiers.    He   holds   a   B.A.   from   the   University   of  Pennsylvania   and   an   M.F.A.   from  USC’s  School   of  Cinema-Television.

Bob ,  his   wife  Gabrielle  and   their   dogs   Honey   and   Rudy   currently   reside   in   Encino.

One   of   Sommers   Company’s   founding   members,  Matthew   Stuecken   now   serves   as  its   Vice   President   of   Development.

After   working   on   documentaries   in   the   Washington,   D.C.   area   for  several   years,  Stuecken   relocated   to   Los  Angeles   to   attend   the   Peter   Stark   Producing   Program   at  USC’s   School   of   Cinema-Television.    There,   he   co-produced   and   co-wrote   The  Tower  of  Babble,   a   highly   acclaimed   student   film   that   went   on   to   win   the   Chrysler   Million  Dollar   Film   Festival.

Matt   currently   resides   in   Los   Angeles   with   his   wife   Jane   and   their   two   daughters.
