Graduation Requirements
Suwannee High School provides a rigorous academic program for all students.
Graduation Coursework Requirements for students entering 9th grade 2006-07 school year or earlier (current Juniors and Seniors)
•4 credits in English (I - IV)
•4 credits in Math to include 1 credit in Algebra
•4 credits in Science
•4 credits in Social Studies to include:
1 American History
1 World History
.5 Economics
.5 Government
•1 credit in Performing Arts or Practical Arts
•.5 credit in Health and .5 credit in Personal Fitness or 1 credit HOPE class
•.5 credit in Physical Education
•8.5 credits of electives
FCAT Requirements
All students in Florida must earn a 300 scale score on the FCAT Reading and FCAT Math tests.
2.0 GPA Requirement
All students in the state of Florida must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 to receive a diploma. The cumulative grade point average includes all courses taken during high school.

•4 credits in English (I - IV)
•4 credits in Math to include 1 credit in Algebra
•3 credits in Science
•3 credits in Social Studies to include:
1 American History
1 World History
.5 Economics
.5 Government
•1 credit in Performing Arts or Practical Arts
• 1 credit HOPE class
•4 credits from a Career Program, Fine Arts program or Academic Content Area -Major
•4 credits of electives
How many credits do I need to be in the ‘next grade’?
9th graders will need 5.0 credits to be 10th graders for 2009-2010
10th graders will need 11 credits to be 11th graders next year.
11th graders will need 20 credits to be 12th graders next year.
