Sonia King
Mosaic artist Sonia King is a founding member and past-President of SAMA and a director of the Associazione Internazionale Mosaicisti Contemporanei. Sonia creates one-of-a-kind, contemporary mosaics for gallery, architectural, community and home settings. Her mosaic art is exhibited nationally and internationally and represented in private, public and corporate collections.
Sonia was featured on HGTV’s popular show, “Modern Masters”, and in numerous books. Her four large mosaic walls for Children’s Medical Center of Dallas were featured on the cover of Healthcare Design magazine and awarded an international Spectrum Award recognizing creativity and achievement in the use of tile in residential and commercial design. Sonia teaches the art of mosaic at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas as well as advanced workshops around the world.
She is the author of the bestselling book Mosaic Techniques & Traditions: Projects & Designs from Around the World from Sterling Publishing. Sonia is currently co-authoring Mosaic Master Class: The Advanced Techniques. For further details please visit the artist's site Sonia King Mosaic Artist

Sophie Drouin
Sophie Drouin is a second-generation mosaic artist, having studied first with her father, who was trained in Italy. Having to Europe herself to study in Italy and France, she now teaches workshops on technique and design with particular attention to natural materials, and enjoys making mosaics that sometimes stretch the possibilities of the medium. Sophie has exhibited in the International Mosaic Art juried show every year since she joined SAMA, and is the 2009 recipient of the Member’s Choice award. She has taught mosaic workshops at the International mosaic summits in Miami and San Diego, at the Chicago Mosaic School, the Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland, California, as well as at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. Sophie resides in Kitchener, Ontario (Canada) where she pursues a dual career as a mosaic artist and teacher, as well as a symphony musician. Steve Aimone
Steven Aimone (M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing, Brooklyn College) is an artist, fine arts instructor, and independent curator who has taught numerous design workshops and courses to a wide variety of audiences: professional artists and craftspeople, college students, museum patrons, and school teachers. He is the author of DESIGN! A Lively Guide to Design Basics for Artists and Craftspeople, published by Lark Books / Barnes and Noble (hardcover in 2004, paperback in 2007).
Aimone was a resident of Manhattan for most of his adult life where he earned an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Brooklyn College. His paintings and collage compositions have been the subject of four solo exhibitions in New York City, where he was also represented by Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, and are included in corporate and private collections nationally.
Aimone has taught painting, drawing, and design at both Western Carolina University in North Carolina and Stetson University in Florida. Aimone now teaches "The Spiritual Language of Art" workshops--and offers related fine arts lectures--through Aimone Art Services.
