Chromatin packages our cellular DNA, protects it from damage and ensures that only specific sets of genes are active in any given cell. This is achieved through the dynamic marking of histone proteins and the regulation of chromatin structure & function.

Our lab focuses on discovering fundamentally novel mechanisms in this chromatin-encoded, ‘epigenetic’ level of biological control.
