Welcome to fourth grade. I am very excited to be working with you and your child this year.
CLASSROOM RULES AND DISCIPLINE
1. Have respect for all.
2. Stay on task.
3. Stay in your seats unless given permission.
4. Raise your hand to speak.
Consequences:
Tally Mark
Two tally marks = loss of recess
Ten demerits = can't go to the trimester party
MINI ECONOMY
My reward system is a mini economy with credits and debits. During the week students can earn "V-Bucks" to use at the trimester parties. Students can deposit their money in the “bank” at the end of the week. The class bankers manage these accounts and are also in charge of direct depositing paychecks (for students daily jobs). All students have an end of the day job but can also apply for extra jobs. Students also have the option of buying a CD (Certificate of Deposit) that they can earn interest on and use at the winter or spring trimester party.
The debits include:
20 V-Bucks for an extra copy of something they lost (permission slip etc.)
20 V-Bucks for a tally
“HAPPY CAMPER” VIP CARDS
The group with the least amount of tallies every two weeks earns a “Happy Camper” VIP card.
This card lasts for two weeks and is good for:
*Teacher signatures on their Kindness Cards (for being such kind campers)
*First in line (including the lunch line)
*Sit anywhere during reading time
*Camp cushions to sit on in their desks
* A “Free Homework” pass to use on one of their homework pages
