Time of Flowers

Driving home from the beach I passed an apple orchard - acres of trees making a low-lying cloud of blossoms.

And the city is floating on blossoming fruit trees and blooming buds on every corner, sparkling in tiny rowhouse yards and filling the formal plots of government buildings.

I’m going to get up before dawn tomorrow to walk around the Tidal Basin as the sun rises on that remarkable Washington event - the peaking of the ornamental cherry trees.  It’s always a grand, and somewhat emotional experience.   Plus crazy-like-a-postcard photos are about to be shot.  Welcome back, springtime.
