My Life What’s on my mind I started off taking piano lessons and playing the flute in the school band. I first heard about the Blues Ed program and the Side Effects from Matt and Will when I was in 8th grade.  I really wanted to join because I would be able to sing and do what I had always wanted to do since I was a little girl. Matt's mom is the one that asked me to join and said she noticed me while performing in the school's swing choir, and of course I couldn't turn the offer down! The Blues was never something that I could see myself involved with. Now that I am, I see that it is like many other styles of music in many different ways. Country, being my favorite style of music, and many other styles originated from the Blues.  It's not something that most people envision 15, 16, and 17 year olds playing, but i love it!
