The weather the week before made it look like we would have to cancel the battle, but the Sun came through on Saturday! The same terrain that makes the field a challenge helped it to drain enough for us to go forward....
We had about 25 Tank Drivers with about 40 tanks. Tamiyas , Henlongs, TBU, DBU, TankHobby battle circuits, and El Mods all playing nicely together.
During this battle the allied forces proved themselves as conquerers for most of the battles. They used the new terrain to their advantage and were able to hold off the advancing German forces. As you can see in one of the photos below, the terrain also made it a tricky challenge for some drivers who were eager to get a kill.
Although the Allied forces prevailed, the German forces put up an extremely hard fight for the Allies. In one battle, Craig and Kevin dueled it out to the death on top of the hillside town. Kevin blew Craig’s Panther tank to pieces in the end and brought the Allies another victory!
Thus, with all of the excitement and fun that we all had at this battle, the weather turned out to stop us around mid-day. The turn out of people was fantastic!
