If you have a vision for your invitation or stationery suite and you did not see anything in our gallery or collection that works with your particular style, theme or vision then we would be happy to work with you to create the perfect custom design. In fact, most of the designs in our gallery have been custom designs for past clients!
Creating a custom design can be a daunting task if you are unsure of what you want or are un-prepared for the process. When it comes to custom design there are literally infinite possibilities, so to help us create the perfect design for you here is what you should do to prepare for the design process.
Tell us about your event
The invitation sets the tone of your event, so please be prepared to tell us about your wedding or event. Is it fancy and elegant or casual and relaxed? Is it colorful and bright or is natural and subdued? What colors are you incorporating and is there a theme we should know about?
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
We’d love to see pictures of any inspiration you might have. The best way for us to get a sense of your style is to see what you have already chosen for your event. Pictures of the ceremony and reception site, your dress, your bridesmaids dresses, flowers, centerpieces and decorations. Pictures of any other stationery already designed or of stationery you like is also extremely important.
Honesty is the best policy
Once I have some inspiration from you I will start working on some possible design ideas. Depending on how much information I have from you sometimes I’ll start by sending you pictures of other invitations to see what direction I should be heading. If I feel like I have a solid vision I’ll start designing right away. This is the time to tell me what you love and what you hate and most importantly why you love or hate those things. I promise you, my feelings won’t be hurt, this is just part of the process and narrowing down the options so please be honest.
Patience is a Virtue
Most clients are surprised at how much back and forth correspondence there is when creating a design from scratch, please be patient with the process, as it can be time consuming. I want you to love your design as much as possible and I am happy to make any and all changes, no matter how slight or big, to get your design absolutely perfect.
Time Frame
Since custom design can be a lengthly process please allow additional time to the suggested timeframes. As a rule of thumb, if the order time is months out to the event, please add a month to the order by date for custom services. If it is weeks, please add 1 to 2 weeks.
Custom Design Pricing
As this is a very custom service, pricing will vary, and a confirmed amount cannot be determined until we have had a consultation via appointment, e-mail or phone.
