And on the 2nd day....she got her book back.

It’s true. Apple has done it again! Saturday I dropped by the Apple store at Northpark Mall in Dallas to try to get my logic board fixed. Too bad there was a 3 day reservation back up.

Plan B: Thanks to my amazing mac-buddy Alan V, I dropped into the only other Apple store within 40 miles of DFW. Thank goodness the reservation wait was 5 min. As it turns out, my logic board was messed up and needed to be replaced. However, my warranty ran out 2 days prior. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!  The helper at the genius bar allowed the warranty to still take place and as I would soon find out, his kind gesture saved me $843. 55. Amen!

I came home and backed up my hard drive on my Christmas gift from mom and dad: THE MyBook external hard drive. Awesome. I drove back to the Knox street, uber-kind Apple store and waved goodbye to my precious blanco, 13 inches of greatness. I now know what it feels like the first day you leave your 4 year old at day care. Here’s where it gets really good. 17 hours later, Kristen from Apple on Knox has left me the sweetest  message I’ve ever heard: “Mrs. Koehler, you’re precious blanco, 13 inches of greatness has been fixed.” I literally flew to Knox street through all kinds of standing 5 o’clock traffic and kissed the front, glass entrance. In the words of Moritz: Truly heaven must feel like this.

Okay that’s extreme but thought worthy. I’m getting checked out, saw the bill that I would have had if Apple wasn’t soooo generous, and started up convo with the Apple checker outter. His name was Kris and he lived with his “better half” who worked in the legal business (what?). Somehow we started talking about New York and my internship with TMG and come to find out that he knew all my friends up there!! He worked with Serino whose office I took tickets and posters and promos to during the best 3 months I’d ever (the last few months have been better....) had.

Crazy, small world. Crazy, small mac world. Totes!

peace. love. and iloveit.
