It’s potentially been a sad few weeks for those of you who check this blog daily. That may not be many of you, but for those who do, I am sorry. Let this be forewarning then, these will come like waves. They will come in spurts, with calm seas in between. And you never know when the big ones will hit, so keep checkin up. I’ll keep writing em. It’s a deal.

One of the reasons for the lack of posts has been the simple fact that I was in a musical slump. I just wasn’t finding anything that hit home. No songs that had lyrics I was obsessed enough to post as an AIM away message. No songs that made me hit repeat more than once. When I hear some songs I immediately become addicted, and there was nothing new to give me another fix.

The past week has been glorious though. I’ve been able to completely reload new tunes and  it will take another few weeks or so to completely digest all of them. I’m excited.

Damn, so what are they already, you ask?
In no particular order, I’m currently repeat listening to...

1. DoubleheadeR:
    - I will champion these guys until I’m blue in the face
    - They self-released their debut EP Commit Your Lies to
Suicide last night with a ridiculously energetic rock star
like performance. A recap will follow this post.

2. Metric:
    - From Fall through Winter of last year I could not get
enough of the Canadian smorgasboard of a group
      Broken Social Scene.
    - Being that BSS has around 15 members at all times,
and most of the members are in other groups, and those
groups have side projects into other groups, its damn
tough to keep track of all the members many releases.
    - Metric’s lead singer is Emily Haines, who appeared on 2
of my favorite BSS songs “Shoreline” and “Anthem for a
      17 Year Old Girl.”
    - Emily has a solo, non-Metric album due out Sept 26
titled Knives Don’t Have Your Back.
    - Until then I will be listening to Metric songs. Here are a
      my momentary Metric song obsessions.

3. TV On The Radio:
    - I just received an advance copy TV’s next release
Return to Cookie Mountain in the mail on Friday.
    - Yes. It kicks ass so far.
    - No. I can’t put it up for streaming....yet.
    - Wait until Sept 12.

That’s some for now. More to come.

keep it movin’
