.if you have been living under the Rock.
search out the following for immediate gratification. if you don't know, now you know, playa.
full album :: Say Anthing “...is a real boy” + “...was a real boy”
many an album suffer from those songs that, to put it bluntly,
suck horribly. Those that make you wonder what drugs
the artists took when they decided which tracks made the final
cut. (not the drugs they took while making the song, those were
obviously phenomenal). Filled from start to finish with guitar riffs
fit for the phrase “plain dirty” and a storyline with more sex, drugs,
and insanity than pre-Pirates Keith Richards, this re-released
double album has no such flaws. Plus singer Max Bemis is
actually bipolar. Keep that in mind when listening to “Little Girls.”
website :: The Hype Machine (www.hypem.com)
Screw waiting for release dates, you know some blogger’s got those new tracks posted. Now if only
you could find their site. The Hype Machine can. This site crawls (yep, that’s what it’s called) blogs all
over the web, jacks all their streaming audio, then consolidates them into one super long playlist.
I don’t have the attention span for MySpace, where you can only listen to a few songs, by only one artist, at a time. I head to the “popular” page on the Hype and find all the new buzz bands and limitless unreleased remixes and rarities. I’ll pick one, hit listen and an external player pops up aside the website and streams all the listed songs together. If i have a single artist i want to listen to i’ll search their name, keying up all their tracks and streaming them together just as easily. The only downside is that you can’t directly steal the songs right off the site...
...therefore FREE sushi dinner to the first person who can find me a program that can make these songs into files i can put on my ipod. I’ll even take you to Sasabune, the BEST under the radar sushi spot in NYC, just read the reviews.
song: Halifax :: “Better Than Sex”
it doesn’t exactly live up to its name, but it’s still damn good. plus they have this kick ass t-shirt.
“everywhere you go is swirling. everything you say has water under it.”
