This weekend is the last before Tuesday’s election, where our Church leaders have reminded us that so much is at stake, especially the gospel values of justice and peace that Jesus preached.
As we go into the voting booth or cast our absentee ballot for those away at school, we have a responsibility to inform our conscience that guides our voting choices. The Church has a number of ministries to guide us in this sacred act.
The Catholic Alliance for the Common Good is a fine resource for us to use. Grounded in the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, their Voting Guide presents succinctly the various issues to which we are called to attend.
How will you decide for whom you shall vote?
(Also, I have come to know the executive director of this organization, and I am sure that she would welcome some feedback on how helpful this voting guide is. Let us know!)
