Welcome to my website. Inside you will find my last 3 years of work and tangible evidence of my obsession with color. After working primarily in black and white for 25 years as a medical illustrator, I have begun to investigate color in the world. Living first in Nepal and now in China, the hues and shapes of the world around me are a constant source of stimulation.

Everyday and the Exotic
My imagery ranges from the exotic to the everyday (which can be quite out of the ordinary here in Asia). I do landscapes, portraits and still life, working in mixed media: wet and dry, pastel and watercolor and oil. I try to create and maintain an active surface and a depth of color that doesn’t quite veil the work I’ve done below. My paintings are primarily on Wallis sanded paper, yes even some of the oils, and Mi-tientes. Sometimes I create my own surface with an acrylic gel medium and marble dust.
