Moldova: September 2006-June 2007
In case you don’t even know what I am doing here, I’ll explain it. I am on a fellowship that is very similar to a Fulbright. There are several Fulbrighters here and I am the only ELF here so I am being supervised and grouped with them as a “guest” of the embassy. The English Language Fellows program is sponsored by the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. I work for Uncle Sam. Georgetown University has the contract to coordintate the recruitment and logistics for the program. The US Embassy in Moldova coordinates on this end. I work at a teacher training college and with two other groups of professional organizations for teachers. I will be doing some observations and lots of workshop and conferences on whatever topics the teachers here want to learn about. I have my agenda, and hopefully it will fit in with theirs.
