A Brief History of the Oahu Senior Baseball League

The Oahu Senior Baseball League (OSBL) was formed for the summer 1989 season by Mike Evans, Pal Eldridge the head coach at Punahou, and Vern Ramie the head coach at Kamehameha. The league started with 18 teams in 3 divisions. Games were played at Quick Field by the Marine Barracks on Pearl Harbor, Keehi Lagoon, Hans L'Orange and other fields throughout the island of Oahu. The OSBL has been operating continuously for almost 20 years. The OSBL has expanded from the summer baseball program to Fall and Spring programs. This past summer we had 24 teams making up 3 divisions and this fall we will have 28 teams including 3 or 4 teams made up of players over 40 years old.

The Fall Season is currently half way through. If the weather co-operates, the last regular season games will be played on the 8th of Nov. The playoff will start the following Sunday 11/15/09.

Spring Ball is just around the corner. There is the possibility of having 8 teams in one division with games being played on Sunday's only. More info will be coming soon.

The Summer Season will start about a month after the Spring season is finished. The summer season will start sometime in May and run thru the last weekend of August. Start planning now for a summer of baseball fun.

Are you interested in playing hardball again? Remember how it used to be? Well, you can relive your past by playing adult baseball here on Oahu. If you are over 18 years of age, sign up today. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign a waiver/liability form for you to be able to play. All are welcome.
