Welcome to Alaska Honey Bee, Your source for Package bees & Queens for beekeeping in Alaska.

Orders accepted up to, and at times beyond, delivery dates. Please feel free to place an order or change an order at any time. Pre-orders for the following season can also be made, I set prices for each season in November the preceding Fall.

I have been bringing in package bees for 20 years, will do so again this spring for myself and others. This year unlike in some years past my supplier will only supply 4 pound packages, no 3 pound packages. Please read entire page before ordering.

Pickup in Alaska $135.00 4 lb. Package Bee with queen.

Package Bee Prices for 2012 are $135.00, Extra Queens $25.00. Price is subject to change, Although I will honor the price I book your order at when you order. Ordering by email insures a stable price. Currently you can pre-order and I can book your order. Alternative for those wanting drop service to their
location vs. pick-up is described below on bottom of page. Otherwise the price above is for delivery in Alaska for pickup at drop off points. A gas charge may be charged by those driving to pickup in South-Central Alaska to points South and North.

Placing an order

When placing an order please Download an Order Form with the link below and email the order to me for documentation and use (Package Bee Order 2012) in the subject line for sorting. You can also mail it to me along with payment. Please tell me an alternant strain incase a particular strain becomes unavailable. If no alternant is made known to me I will arbitrarily make the choice. When ordering I need your name, mailing address, phone numbers (two is better than just one), email address, number of packages, type of queen, and whether you would like additional queens in the packages.

You must pre-Pay for your order at least two weeks prior to expected delivery date, you can send payment by sending check or money order after January 1st 2012 to my address below. I do accept PayPal, but extra charges are add of 3% to cover what paypal charges me for money transactions.

I breed bees in Alaska here in South-Central Alaska and send my breeder queens in the fall to my California package bee and queen producer where I supply my daughters in the spring to Alaska beekeepers in the form of package bees. I call my queens Alaska Honey Bee (AHB). I make no claims that my queen daughters are Alaska hardy or better than other queens, they are simply queens from bees that have survived winters outside previously in Alaska in the South-Central Alaska area.

I also will be supplying Treatment free queen daughters from Kirk Webster's breeding stock from my supplier this year, from breeder queens I bought from Kirk this last summer, in the form of Package bees also. This I am very excited about because Kirks bees are mostly Russian bees, He thinks they are about 85% pure. He keeps his bees treatment free, going now on 10 years. He keeps his bees in Vermont so they are northern USA bees. I will call them Webster's Queen Daughters (WQD)

For Small cell or natural cell beekeepers I can arrange for 3 lb. package bees to be delivered from an Amish beekeeper in Arkansas that is converted over to small cell worker comb and has used no treatments now going five years and has been small cell for eight years. packages are usually available in the second half of April.

~ Package Bee Distribution Dates for 2012 ~
April 7th ~ April 13th

I have two dates for Package Bee delivery tentatively set for April 7th for just AHB., and April 13th for a combination of WQD and NWC.

Delivery to Fairbanks and the northern locations will be coming out of the 13th arrival, I will transport myself to the northern regions probably a day after arrival. I will distribute South-Central first and then drive north with the package bees.

There will be drop off points for delivery in Anchorage, on the Kenai Peninsula, Eagle River / Chugiak, and the Mat-Su areas. Individuals managing these drop of points will call you when pickup is ready.

For anyone ordering in Alaska the price will include freight shipping to Anchorage Ted Stevens International Airport. A gas charge will be expected by the transporter to outlying areas for each package bee where each package bee being delivered will be divided into the gas used to pickup and deliver to the pickup points. For example, if it cost $50.00 for gas total to pickup and deliver 20 package bees the gas charge for each package bee being picked up will be $2.50. Mind you this is just an example and reality, because of changing gas prices, quantity of package bees, and distances may be quite different.

I get many calls from potential customers from throughout the USA for package bees that I sell. I am working with my supplier for UPS shipping for orders and drop shipping to lower 48 states and Alaska.
