FoozhehROO is how you say it. Named for the dried fern leaves placed on the rind. I read that the man who invented the cheese didn’t like the imperfections of the rind and used fern leaves to disguise them.  Evidently the French fell for it - and it’s been the trademark ever since. And....it’s makes for an elegant subject to paint.
