“Oak Street Beach”
5 x 7” oil on masonite

This woman came to Oak Street Beach with four kids, so I could just feel the
envy coming off of her as she watched those young, carefree swimmers.
It is quite an amazing sight - being on a beach - and right behind you is the city and the traffic. Very bizarre, but what a great asset for Chicago and its people.

It was a bit cloudy on the day I was there - so I took advantage of painting the softer grey-greens and lavenders, and more absorbed light. Notice the cruise ship in the distance, that tours Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.
