“Grandpa Day”

These are the sweet moments you might catch, walking along the beach. This little girl was enjoying some time with her grandpa, on Oak Street Beach, in Chicago.
I use this technique occasionally - where I paint the figures with a smooth, flat brush - then edge that with a hardened bristled brush. It gives a scene like this a little more movement. I think it makes it a bit more casual - as it should.
