“Colorsticks”
6 x 6” oil on masonite

There was a time when I thought my destiny was with pastels. I seemed to be a good fit - and I obsessively drew models clothed and unclothed. Then I dove into my workaholic years and put them away.

A couple of years ago, when I was able to start doing some art again, I took up oils - because it’s what my mom painted with and I wanted to try it. The vividness of the color is similar to pastels and frankly, a little less messy. Nonetheless, I will always hang onto my colorsticks.
