“Thirsty”

This is my ode to summertime.
Those long, hot, glaring days that can either make us feel revived,
like a watered plant, or drained of all energy by mid-afternoon.
This painting depicts the thirsty beach-goers, on South Beach, Miami -
gathering 'round the smoothie stand, ready for some refreshment.
It's particularly loose and painterly - casual and relaxed -
just as a day at the beach should be.
