At first, I wanted to title this painting “God at the Top of the Stairs” because of that warm, radiant light beaming down from above, which is one of the reasons I chose this image to paint. The other reason being I wanted to use one color , and see how to achieve depth by lightening and darkening that color. This old, wooden-railed staircase is in an old Atlanta hotel that was built over 123 years ago.
