Being that this would be my 150th daily painting - I wanted it to be special. And larger than my usual. This was also a piece I started weeks ago, intended for placement in a gallery, but I was told that ‘older people don’t sell’. Just let me add, I strongly disagree, but I aim to please. So I set it aside - less than halfway done. And today, I finished it - thinking it was a nice way to end the series for my “a painting a day - volume 3”.
This scene was taken from the lobby of the New York hotel, Le Parker Meridian, where I stayed last October.
SOLD
An added note on Sept. 30th - The auction’s results were so far beyond my expectations, and I thank everyone who bid and who commented on the older woman depicted in the painting. I think you all proved the gallery’s presumption as wrong. ;)
