I finished this last evening - I loved painting this piece. Of course any time I get to include a Sargent, I get a thrill.
The composition of his painting “Daughters of Edward Dailey Boit” is brilliant - and including this young woman sitting on the floor, working on a report for school, seemed to be an extension of Sargent’s group of girls.
