“Five to Ten at the White Hen”
5 x 7” oil on masonite

From my hotel window, I could
see the limy-gold lit corner of
Wacker & Wabash,
where the White Hen stays
open all night long.

I wasn't quite sure I could
pull this one off - it's a challenge
to bring light out of darkness.
The color is also tricky - to get
that mustardy tone - that glow
from the streetlights that makes
our skin look pale and green.
