Boy dreamer masquerading as a logical adult—witness Thinking, which grew from a philosophy major, a PhD in English Renaissance Literature from Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois, and an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Gannon University. I have taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago, McMurry College in Abilene Texas, Villa Maria College in Erie Pennsylvania, and currently I teach at Gateway Technical College in the Wisconsin Technical College System. Hopefully my books and works show a love of beauty, people, country, and our earth. Astounded and pleased that after a cerebral book called Thinking, I could still dream—see Sow the Storm, God: an Autobiography, The Wizard, and The Karjill. Dreaming more strongly that our decaying American Republic could shine again as the First American Democracy, I wrote America: the Takeback. I am personally promoting this book on college campuses, for if it burns in a single heart, our country and thus the world may change. If you like the book, please pass it forward into the hands of the idealistic young. Hopefully they will re-seed it as a Johnny Appleseed of the mind. My waking dream is for the returning beauty of earth: The Other Edge of Beauty shows the rinsing power of nature. And a wake-up call, harsh but hopefully clear and resounding, comes in Bridge Out: Full Speed Ahead Beyond the Dreams, a call to action: I have formed a group, growing across the country called the The Earth Act. These are people who can agree to the following statement: I am a citizen of the United States, I am a member of the living community of the earth. I breathe earth’s air, drink earth’s water, and eat earth’s food. I will act to lessen my harm to our earth and to pass our earth forward, better and more beautiful. If that makes sense to you, then please check TheEarthAct.org for a website that will join voters from all parties, religions, regions, and demograpics who will pressure Congress to sponsor and pass The Earth Acts, a series of Acts which will allow us to keep most of our American dream without harming our earth. The Earth Act Members will start with a passable act such as The Earth House Act which would simply state: In five years all new houses must be built using 100% renewable and non-polluting energy. Because these houses are already being built, because the higher initial price would be recouped in energy savings and then in a higher resale value, the number of people favoring the act would out weigh those opposing. With a successful first act, membership would continue to grow, momentum would swell, and successive acts that dealt with transportation and production would be easier to pass.
