Flowers bloom and lightning strikes as God looks down on the folly, fatality, and beauty of humanity. See the world from a new view. Listen to the music of the poetry and paradox.

“I am the God of light and wonder, but I am the God of night and thunder. I am not a simple God, for I have woven life and death into the same strand. Your mother, like a silver fish arched above the water, struck the calm lake of life, and rippled you. Alone in you I have lit the flame of freedom, and you, burning, burning, have stepped out of your gene pool grasping the sun in your hands and hurling missiles at the stars."

"So who am I? I am sound and sight and thought and passion. I am then and now. I am the winds that wash your hair and the waters that rinse your feet. I am the sparkle on the snow, the silver of the rain, the gold of the grain. I am the love shining in your eyes and the blood beating in your heart."

Let the flowers of joy bloom in the field of pain, and let the lightning illuminate your mind.
A Sample Reflection: Earth is My Child

I love Earth.
Of my daughter planets she is my fairest.
On her over the eons I have unfolded.
On her I have lavished the colors of life.
On her, for five billion years, I have watched as a shepherd.
I have watched her heave rocks and spout fire, form Pangaea, and scatter continents.
I have watched the first prokaryote bubble to life and I have stirred the Cambrian seas into a rich rainbow phyla.
I have seen the fins turn to feet and walk onto land.
I have seen the primates swing off the lowest limbs, shuffle on four feet, and then stand tall in the savannahs as their toes turned to fingers.
I have midwifed Earth’s birthing well.
Witness: Earth unfolded you.
Now, for the first time, I no longer herd one of my species—you, my humans, range where you will.
To you I have given of my own freedom.
I’ve given of my transcendence.
While you are folded into life, you stand apart from life.
You alone see the stream of life that your feet are standing in.
With your freedom you have grasped my great powers.
You have entered into and altered the very unfolding of my being..
Treasure your touch but beware your grasp.
One of your thinkers cautioned that your tug at a single thing in Nature, is hitched to the rest of the universe.
Now, will you meddle and manipulate, or learn and govern?
That, is your greatest challenge, and the greatest challenge to my planet.
Remember, Earth is my child.
You hold her in your hands.
Though she is your mother,
hold her like a child.
Love her.
