Soup’s On! and Favorite Blogs

There are a few blogs that are simply just a must for me to read. And BooMama’s is one of them! Not only is she one of the absolute funniest people I’ve ever virtually met, she always has the most exciting things going on on her blog. If it’s not a “give away” of some neat little invention, then it might be jewelry, a book, a CD or just about anything she’s offering up! And when she simply talks about her world she keeps your attention knowing just how to “paint” with words. In any event, her blog always makes me laugh out loud! She doesn’t consider herself a “writer” but she’s surely got some talent! I have actually laughed myself to tears at some of her entries. So let this be a warning. You won’t go there for just a few minutes. Pack a suit case. Plan to spend the night. She is now doing a “Soup-Tacular” entry and everyone is entering their favorite soup recipe. If you want some “mighty fine” soup recipes then you can click on the link above and be taken to her blog page. She’s opened with posting a few of her own but her readers are sharing theirs by way of their own blogs. At the bottom of the post for todays date you will see the people so far who have submitted a recipe. And trust me, this list will grow by the 100’s (maybe 1000s) as the day wears on! It’s not even 11 a.m. here and already 80 responses! Click on the “orange” names (mine is #3 which links to my Monesta recipe from September) to jump to any blog for some good soup and some good eatn’! Make sure you have lots of paper in your printer. This is just one of the reasons I love blogs! So much to learn, so little time.

Since it seems I am promoting some of my favorite blogs I should tell you about Hector. While BooMama caters to my funny side, I stumbled upon Hector’s blog a while back who certainly hit on my sentimental side. Although at first, it was his funny video’s that caught my attention and then watching the sweet one in honor of his Dad touched my heart. One thing led to another and I found myself skimming over his entire blog. (that just seems to be what happens in blog land!) After my sneek peek over coffee one morning, I was in deep. I discovered his “book”, A Day in the Life of my Dad. This is actually letters his Dad has written to him telling him all about his life and most importantly all about their heritage. I have been amazed. It was as compelling to read, if not more, than any book I would pick up in a store off the best seller list. His Dad had quite the story to tell. (and I’ve still only had time to read the first six or seven chapters) I ended up emailing Hector because .... well, that’s just the way I am. I believe people should be complimented when their work touches someone else’s life. As it turned out, he ended up helping me fix some things on my own blog that I was having trouble with because he too is a MAC user. So then, another blog friendship was born. If you’d like to check out his blog, he gave me permission to link to it from my blog. Be sure to check out his Halloween Crank ghost video ... I’m making one of those next year ... Sooooo neat!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot ... Libby just called to wish me a happy birthday .... Yep, another year older ... another year wiser .... Let the party begin!
