Yoga Holidays & Wellness Retreats

Retreats are an opportunity to get out of our daily routine and immerse ourselves in community with other like-minded people.  It is a time to focus and expand both physically & mentally, inside & out. Through the joy of our asana practice, silence & meditation, pranayama, cleansing & detox, we transform our energies to a higher frequency to better serve ourselves and those around us in our lives.  I personally take great care in selecting a variety of venues for retreats and trainings, where I can offer the best of what is available in each area.  Each venue has a feeling of community, graciousness & hospitality in sharing the uniqueness of the local region.

With Love & Blessings - Susan

“I could feel the magic that ran through the group. I know each of us will bring home something very special, maybe even life changing.”  -Elizabeth

Healing Yoga Therapy Retreat

This retreat offers the opportunity to delve deeply into body/mind/breath alignment, creating balanced energy in the body. Through the conscious practise of yoga, awareness and transformation of our postural “habits” can be transformed from healing yoga therapy.  We will review common areas of tension, limitations and chronic pain - allowing for more freedom and pranic flow in our bodies.  Areas of focus: Feet, shins & thighs, pelvis, chest, shoulders & neck.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to begin a healing foundation for their yoga practise, those who experience chronic pain and limitation of movement when practising yoga, and for teachers or bodywork practitioners who are interested in using therapeutics in their work. Designed for all levels.

Retreat includes 2 yoga classes a day, shared accomodation, and 3 meals a day.

There will plenty of free time to explore this beautiful part of France.

Cost:   £420 - Book directly with Nigel at La Roane

The Splendour of Spring - ALL LEVELS

This weeklong retreat offers the opportunity to pause and take in the new energy of what spring provides. A season affiliated with renewal and rebirth, spring is a time to blossom into a brighter, luminous time in the yearly cycle. Invigorating asana, pranayama & meditation practise will be offered in an ideal setting which is surrounded by natural beauty, silence and nature. Mixed level classes allow for individuals to practice at their own level, making the week suitable for students of different abilities. This includes those who may be new to yoga as well as those who practice various other types of yoga.  There will be 3 meals served daily (with one evening meal out at a local restaurant on the last night), as well as plenty of free time to relax, read or sleep, and to explore the surrounding countryside and villages.  In Sabina is in the heart of the Sabine Hills, just north of Rome near Umbria, set amidst olive groves, woodlands and rolling landscapes. The surrounding area is unspoilt farmland and the house and grounds are peaceful and quiet.  The grounds are comprised of seven lush acres with a natural spring, a pond, gardens and an outdoor swimming pool. There are spaces indoors and out for yoga, meditation and reading.  Shared accomodation is provided in two beautifully restored 17th century stone farmhouses with terraces that open out to a gentle panorama of olive groves, fruit trees and stunning sunsets. The medieval village of Torri in Sabina (1000 inhabitants) is just three kilometres away.   Fee includes shared accomodation, two yoga classes a day and three meals a day.

The Turning of Autumn Equinox

The Yoga centre lies on the hillside amongst dusty-green olive and shady carob trees, set on the edge of a pine forest, in a private, peaceful area.  The Hotel where we stay is a 20 minute walk from the Yoga Centre, where one can enjoy taking in village life along the way.  The turquiose coloured Agean sea is warm enough for swimming from April to December.  All along the shore, one can find shady tea-gardens, sun-bathing jetties, bars and restaurants, where the locals spend the day sunning, socialising, swimming and playing backgammon. The beach stretches half a mile along the bay, dotted with small family hotels, shady palms and fir trees.  There is an abundance of local markets where one can find carpets, spices, pashminas, nuts and Turkish Delight.  Turkish baths are available, which include massage treatments.

Fee includes accomodation, breakfast at the hotel, yoga twice a day at the Yoga Centre and two incredibly delicious, authentic Turkish meals a day.  The Yoga Centre is a unique experience of local village life in Gölköy.  Hosts Michael & Pervin are both Yoga teachers, and they enjoy sharing the world of yoga with their guests.  They have rescued and adopted many local village dogs that have been left on the road.  These beautiful creatures reflect the love and care that their owners share with others.  Please book directly with The Yoga Centre.
