This patient
developed overgrowth above an existing flamingo stent. The second
stent needed to be quite high to cover the overgrowth. The marker
is on cricopharyngeus - positioned with the aid of the endoscope.
After the procedure the patient was not able to feel the stent
but the swallow was not normal. There was associated laryngeal
nerve palsy and poor coordination of the pharyngeal phase of
swallowing.
