MUSIC CAREER HIGHLIGHTS - CURTIS DARBY

THE LAST FIVE YEARS
In Curtis‘ spare time over the last 5 years in the USA, he wrote 5 children books. In Atlanta Curtis was offered an opportunity to turn his books into plays. He worked with The School of Performing Arts directing his own plays.
Curtis collaborated with a well-known producer of Disney. They wrote music together for an up and coming artist. Curtis still had the need to expose more of his gifts, so he decided to produce a new collection of artwork, called ‘The Light’. This collection got him noticed by art critics who praised him for his unique work. This allowed him to display his work in many galleries.
Soon Curtis received a similar offer from The School of Performing Arts in Minneapolis/St. Paul to create his plays. This time Curtis drew from his own background and his own life and wrote 3 new plays; The Curtis Darby Express, Now my eyes can see Hope, Can’t we just get along. These plays found success and the audience gravitated to them.
In Curtis spare time he decided to produce and write a CD by himself. The result was 9 songs and the title is called: Honoring my Legacy.
The play The Curtis Darby Express did well and got notoriety and soon he got a phone call to have a meeting with some Hollywood producers Ken Rotcop, Ron Bechtel and Doug Schwartz. Writing and rewriting for 3 months in California it is still being pitched to major studios.
Back in Minneapolis, Curtis was soon offered a 30 minutes tv show called The Curtis Darby Variety Show. This allowed him to use some more of his skills and gifts, like his photography, videography, psychology, creativity and music. This tv show was aired twice a week for about a year.
After a while Curtis missed his first and true love: music and performing live on stage. Using some contacts he established in California and the reconnection of his childhood manager, he sat out an elaborate tour across the country: The East Coast/West Coast Tour.
Finally, his desire to break through the glass ceiling and expand his audience, he is now in pursuit of an international career.

Curtis Darby has recorded with some of the top in the music industry. He appeared in several international magazines. He is a product of 5 generations singers and musicians.
He is family of the international known singers Terrence Trent Darby,
Keb’ Mo' and many successful gospel singers.
