Full Screen Mode - Video

I love FrontRow, but I wish I had more opportunity to use it. Eventually I will, but I love the whole idea of entering this sort of presentation mode.
There’s a lot of eye-candy to be sure, but it does FEEL good. So, if we’re going Apple software, why not go all the way?
PLUS… Apples shipping this nifty remote with all their computers anyhow. Let’s put it to some use, shall we?
Imagine you’re sitting in front of your mac, on your lunch break let’s say, and you want to enter into some casual message board reading. Sit back and enjoy your pizza… I give you, Full Screen Mode (for lack of a better name)…

Posting & Replying - Video
In this scenario, an intrepid browser decides to reply to one of Step's posts using the QUOTE function.

This immediately throws you into Post mode, all the while morphing your app to enable specific functions, features and tools.

You'll note the inline spell-checker. The iLife integration (as well as the finder), and the ease with which Hijack is able to make adding such things as Photos, Art & Images, even Movies.

After dragging it's preview directly into your post, it'll give you an option to resize the image resolution, either to presets, or a custom size. This user decides to keep the resolution untouched.

Hijack will automatically wrap your text and images using that particular forum's BBcode (all behind the scenes). All you have to do now is hit submit (or Save as Draft if you want to think about it for a bit), and let the app upload the image to your server (or possibly a site such as Flickr.com) without you having to do anything else.

Training Mode - Video
imagine it's your first time launching Hijack. You need to add a forum into it's main, left-hand side to get started. You, of course, try mda.com, but LO AND BEHOLD! It's none of the standard forum models that Hijack comes equipped with. Not to worry, it'll immediately prompt you to enter into Training Mode, where it will walk you through this easy process... step-by-step. If anyone is familiar with Firefox's DOM Inspector, it's sorta the same idea.

Because I was so short on time this week, I did have to gloss over a lot of areas, but this will give you the general sense on how it might work. I imagine this whole process taking no more than a couple minutes in real life, and when you're done, it'll always remember how to parse that forum. Another feature may be the option to upload the trained forum to an online library, where other Hijack users can exchange trained forums.

Keywords & Smart Folders
Click the above title to check out the static mockup of Keywords and Smart Folders.

The ability to make smart folders that will sniff out keywords, user names, and other criteria. Making use of this feature will scour the nooks and crannies of your favorite forums, so you don't miss a good thread or something you're interested in.

You can't be everywhere, but Hijack can.

The regular folders are a simple and cool way to keep tabs on threads you're interested in in some manner. Make as many folders you want, and just drag the thread into it. It's nice to categorize and let Hijack watch 'em for ya.
