I think they finally love each other.

Mallory has been walking for a while, and LOVES to be helpful.  She loves to put things “in their place”.  We can say “Mallory, please pick that shirt up off the floor and go put it in the hamper”.  Somehow she knows exactly what we’re talking about.  The downside to this is that “everything has a place” but Mallory’s “places” for things are a little odd.  Yesterday I found a sippy cup of milk neatly placed behind some books in her toy box.  I have no clue how long it was in there.  I couldn’t even estimate because when I poured it out in the sink, I held my breath for at least 40 seconds.  Kevin says she’s slightly OCD like her mother, but I have no clue what he’s talking about.  Soon, she’ll be old enough that we can say “Mallory, please go get that lawnmower out of the garage and mow the front yard.  Taylor will take care of the back.”

How sweet could our little girl be?  This morning, i witnessed Mallory take every animal out of her “zoo bag” one by one, and hand them to Taylor.  She also loves to carry around his sippy cup and hand it to him whenever SHE thinks he’s thirsty.  Taylor gladly accepts anything she gives him, and would never in a million years reciprocate the gesture.  But I do think they love each other.  I will ask Taylor if he loves Mallory and he will hug her and make a really sweet “Aaaaaaahhhhh” sound.  Then they will kiss.  He will tackle his sister to the ground to give her a kiss.  We are wondering at what age we should put a stop to the encouragement and open mouth kissing between our two children.

In other news... we officially have TWO walking children.  Mallory has been walking for a while, but Taylor has been very adamant about the fact that he is “just a crawler”.  He was the first to crawl, first to cruise, and then had absolutely no desire whatsoever to walk.  He wouldn't even walk if you held his hands.  He would just look at you like you were an idiot and sit down and start crawling.  BUT... on Halloween, we were sitting with the babies in the front yard taking pictures when Mallory decided she wanted to go see what the neighbors were up to, so she just took off.  Taylor just stood up and took off after her.  Kevin and I just looked at each other like "where in the world did THAT come from?!?!".  Then he didn't do it again for like 3 weeks! (Probably because I got so excited he might have thought I was having a seizure or something.)  Too funny.
