Cute huh? They are so much more fun now that they actually smile every once in a while! We had our two month checkup today - and got a lot of shots. Kevin was along for the ride, and it went a heck of a lot better than I thought it was going to. The babies cried for about 3 seconds when they got their shots, and quieted as soon as we picked them up. I was expecting screaming to a degree that I’ve never heard... and I was expecting it to be gut-wrenching. But, in all honesty, I’ve heard them scream louder at home. I’m not sure what that says about my parenting abilities, so maybe you should just disregard that last statement. Mallory weighed 11 lbs, 4 oz and was 23 1/4 inches long. She’s in the 75th percentile for her height and head circumference, but only in 50th for weight. (Kevin made fun of me for saying that I still thought she was a little “below average” for her weight. “Um, Amber... she’s in the 50th percentile, you actually think she’s BELOW average?? I’d say she’s dead on?” Actually, right now I’m laughing at myself too. But at the moment, I was tired, stressed, and in no mood for joking... or for THINKING for that matter!) Taylor weighed 10 lbs, 10 oz and was 22 inches tall. He’s in the 25th percentile for height and weight, but 40th for his head circumference. Apparently we have big headed babies. Good thing they have cute heads. (perhaps I’m just biased.) We have also been sleeping somewhat through the night lately. We were on the (“Babywise”) 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm, 10pm, 1am, 4am feeding schedule - but now the babies are pretty consistently sleeping through the 1am feeding (thank you Lord) and have started to eliminate the 4am feeding somewhat - and are sleeping until around 5 or so. This is the best thing ever. Kevin and I are no longer racing to the bed to see who can fall asleep the fastest after the 10pm feeding. We actually have CONVERSATIONS with each other... it’s AMAZING! The first time it happened we both woke up at around 5, and looked at each other somewhat panicked... “Did you get up?”, “No, did you??”... Ahhh... it was so nice.
