I’m a student going on 17 years of schooling, which is a roundabout way of saying that I love learning, reading, and writing. I’m studying English literature, my passion and my calling. It’s okay if you don’t get it.
I’m also an environmentalist, but not the proselytizing kind (okay maybe a little.) I try to do what I can to live green, which includes an enthusiasm for recycling, whole foods (like carrots, not the grocery store), leafy greens, walking, yoga, you know, the usual.
I grew up in Colorado and I’m only just starting to realize what it means to be from “the West.” Colorado is one of the most amazing places on earth and I get a little agoraphobic in flat places (which is of course why I’m going to school in England.) I like deserts and ruined rock walls and red stones. I think wide open spaces are worth more than gold and everyone should see one sometime. They’re getting harder to come by.
This site and this blog are for my family and friends who I’m leaving behind, but I’m hoping that there will be something for everyone here.
I have noticed a strange phenomenon in my life. Books seem to possess an awareness of my needs and desires, and they insert themselves into my life accordingly. I intend to explore and exploit this connection and expose the book conspiracy before they completely control my life. I suspect my affinity for bookish attraction comes from a lifelong interest in their affairs. I study English, I love the texture and feel of text. New pages and old pages are equally beautiful, each in their own way.
