James Jack Leavitt is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1993, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1996, where he was a member of the Law Review.  He is a member of the Nevada Bar and the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association.  Mr. Leavitt has been with the Law Offices of Kermitt L. Waters since 1995.  He has handled over 135 eminent domain actions and has presented approximately 25 of these cases to juries in Nevada.  He has also briefed and argued several complex eminent domain cases to the Nevada Supreme Court.  He has co-chaired several CLE International seminars on eminent domain and has presented eminent domain issues at these seminars.
