Welcome!
Appalachian’s Summer Program in Germany has been a yearly event since 1982, and is still one of the best kept secrets in study abroad programs. In 2000, Appalachian established the Summer School in Trier in cooperation with the University of Trier, which was founded in 1492. Trier, the oldest city in Germany, is tucked away in the famous Moselle valley which prides itself on its rich cultural history of wine-growing. Beginning with Celtic settlements, and the conquering Romans, to the birth place of Karl Marx, all is here to see and experience. The city with its university and its many cultural events, adds to the charm of the program.
If you are searching for a program in Germany which offers students interaction with German university students in a vibrant environment, a program that offers intensive German language and culture classes, and service-learning projects, come, check us out!
